Step 4: Analyze Data
The IRV™ makes it easy to slice and dice the data, looking for strengths, weaknesses, trends, patterns, etc. In most cases, the process of analyzing the data is done both by our consultant and by the client – jointly and individually.
Step 5: Report Results and Gather Feedback
Your Opinions Incorporated consultant will create a Narrative Executive Summary report which briefly answers the strategic questions posed in Step 1. This report is targeted at those senior executives who will be using the information to make business decisions on behalf of the company and provides them with reliable information upon which to base those decisions.
For employee surveys, we also help our clients prepare for feedback sessions in which they may be presenting results to those who participated in the survey. These feedback sessions may also be used to clarify data gathered by the survey, particularly if the answers seem to conflict from one question to another.
Step 6: Recommend Actions
Within the Narrative Executive Overview, and sometimes in presentations to management, our consultants bring their experience and training to bear on the strategic questions being posed by the client and the data collected. They recommend actions that will help the client go from their current state, as measured by the survey, to their desired state, as described in the design process.
Step 7: Develop Action Plans
In many cases, our clients assemble teams from within the company to develop action plans in response to the survey results. If needed, our consultants can provide training for these teams or facilitate their work.
Step 8: Pilot and Refine Action Plans
If the proposed action plans are radical departures from current operating practices, our clients sometimes pilot the action plans to measure their effectiveness and refine them along the way before rolling them out company-wide.
Step 9: Implement Action Plans
Successful change management covers many aspects of an organization – including effective communication. Here again, our consultants can help our clients design effective communication plans and roll-out strategies, if needed. Once action plans have been fully implemented and given time to become integrated into company activities and procedures, it is important to repeat the cycle. Returning to Step 1, we measure the effectiveness of the changes in helping our client move from where they were to where they want to be.
